DRIZZLE
IDENTITY, UX, UI
Our 420 Feast chefs, Wendy Zeng and Shruti Patel, teamed up with Chef Jose Vazquez for a full-service catering business they call Drizzle. The team came to us looking to establish a strong visual identity with a logo and website design. We’d further hone the brand with story edits and site copy.
Drizzle covers everything from daily food delivery to corporate events and dosed dinners. Its identity would have to speak to the playful and experimental nature of the team’s cannabis experiences without alienating corporate clients.
The double Z’s were the perfect opportunity to play with the concept of a ‘drizzle’ – you know, that mouth-watering zig-zag of liquid color that can really make a dish sing. So we started with literal drizzles: honey, hot sauce, oil, etc. We then mimicked them with a one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn double Z mark. After color exploration and type refinement we added highlights to give the logo that liquid feeling.
The logo served as the jumping off point for a playful site, rich in color and driven by the team’s story and passion for food. Our original concept used pre-existing photos from the team’s archives and a controlled palette of orange and blue to create a clean, composite “table” that would run the length of the site, creating a sense of community (one of Drizzle’s driving principles) and visual continuity.
Following feedback from the team the site evolved, employing a broader color palette to represent LA’s diverse food scene, full-width images to spotlight Drizzle’s various services, and an easter egg that showers the site in tiny, multi-colored Z’s, showcasing Drizzle’s flair for the unexpected.

ADOBE XD MOCK-UP – DRIZZLE WEBSITE DESIGN
ADOBE XD MOCK-UP – MOBILE SITE DESIGN
A Bespoke Mobile Site
Responsiveness in web design is a given, but a standard, collapsible layout wouldn’t do Drizzle’s full-width photos justice. To keep the brand story legible and maintain the focus on the food, we created a bespoke mobile and tablet site that optimized the viewing experience for the device. We designed with breakpoints in mind and created a user experience that flowed. As we iterated through the design process, we mocked up the site in Adobe XD to show the client a moving experience rather than a static site.
